Chocolate-y Nut Overnight Oats

Hey there :)

It is getting noticeably cooler here and just the last few days were just rain all over. Just the weather that makes me want to get covered in a blanket and sip on a mug of hot cocoa. But this is for the evenings. In the morning I like to go for some chocolate overnight oats. I usually pack my bowls with one fruit the other, but this time I wanted to have all the chocolate flavor by itself. Some pure, rich taste. For some crunchiness and good fats I also stirred in some nuts and there was my desert-like breakfast. Nice and comforting for those grey days. And I also added some of this granola. I just like it at the moment and it fit in perfectly :)

prep time: 5 minutes +++ yields: one bowl


  • ¼ Cup / 25g rolled Oats
  • 1-2 Tbsp. Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. ground Flax seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. ground Hempseeds (unshelled, if using shelled, don’t grind them)
  • 1 heaping tsp. raw cacao powder
  • about ½ Cup / 125ml almond milk (or preferred milk)
  • 1 Tbsp. Maple syrup
  • handful mixed nuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. raw cacao nibs
  • this granola, optional


The night before mix oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, hempseeds, and cacao powder in a small bowl. Stir in the almond milk and maple syrup. The ingredients should be at least completely covered, so you only see almond milk and no oats in the bowl. Cover the bowl and put in the fridge over night.

The next morning coarsely chop the nuts. Any variety would work, but I went for walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts and some pecan nutes. Take out the bowl with oats and if necessary add some more almond milk. Mix in the nuts, cacao nibs and some of the granola if using. Enjoy.
